IT WAS A WILL...

It was a will. That to of his best friend ,brother ,guide what to call him .he had taught him the ultimate skill , the skill to make money he had to full fill it , he had to go back to what they did best make money-sometimes big money, did people actually meet after death ,how would he answer him if they met , the letter had left him totally disturbed, as he relaxed on his rocking chair the mind just was racing though he picked the letter again …..
Dear friend
I know this would be trouble but all the same I m hoping before we meet again in heaven you do this for me ,a favour , you can call this my will or a request or last words of a dying man….You know how we have lived our lives unafraid & always willing to go that extra mile for a friend , never thought that old age would catch us unawares , health would fade so fast , the smoke & drink would also have its effects , suddenly we would be so lonely & alone , the last three years have been so , even the tears have dried , there is no more freshness on the face even the fingers have stared trembling .. I can cry & cry but remember the saying “Men Don’t Cry”.we lived by it. As I have now started becoming more & more aware of the pending finishing line…. I know that no one else but you can be entrusted with this burden. I have a huge debt which I want you pay back each & every penny with interest to the people I have mentioned in the attached list , the debt is not small or else I would have paid , even if i sell all I have or you sell all you have we will not be able to pay … so I need now repayment of all the thoughts the tricks the magic that I showed you in life , I know life is good to you now , you are going great guns living in a comfort zone I need you to come & live those tricks for me …only you can” Remember the first magic words I taught you to tell your girl- “ Buy eleven roses & stand in front of a mirror ,you will see twelve”It was a will. a short story : as he was in a hurry , the food had to be ready they all would be coming all that would mean 8 of them , Major as all of them lovingly called him , the chicken had to be properly cooked , it would be one last hurray before the day would be called off . he was sure now Juggu would be the first to arrive the first to arrive & the last to leave as usual , then would be vishu , naveen , sanju , surya , brijesh , akram , girish and rajesh . they all loved his chicken , only rajesh dint because he was veg , a nice large glass of juice with some fancy tava pulav was ordered for him. then soon the night became darker as they all settled down with their drinks , everything was going as per plan ,now they were ready for the final servings , as they ate little did they know this was the last morsel soon the effect began one by one they all went down , as major sat & wondered whether this would in tommorrow s headline , at this age it seemed awfull there were bigger sinners who were unpunished & were actually enjoying life. as he started sipping his wine the effect began quickly on him too .....the other two he could see them Sameer oh what a friend he was & Rakesh why had he not called me.. suddenly all seemed blank .. he was no more

A Caged Bird-

My native home was in a pleasant meadow not far from a deep wood, at
some distance from the highway. From this it was separated by plowed
fields and a winding country lane, carpeted with grass.

The air was so pleasant, our nest so cozy, and our parents provided us
such a plentiful diet of nice worms and bugs, that like other
thoughtless babies who have nothing to do but eat, sleep, and grow, we
had no interest in things outside and did not dream there was such a
thing as sorrow or crime in this beautiful world. When our
parents were off gathering our food, we seldom felt lonely, we kept each other company by telling what we would do when we should be strong enough to fly.

Our mother, who was both very proud and very fond of us, was untiring
in her watchful care and tenderly cared for we passed the early sunny days of life.
On a warm morning after a rain we were suddenly intruded and caught & soon I found myself in a cage , I screamed & cried but there was no avail & soon there was a man who was coming and then he started to hit me on my head , very slowly at first then harder he wanted me to repeat the words he was saying Good morning ,then I too said Good morning he was happy & then I was fed.soon this became a ritual .the iron rod hurt but soon I realized that I would have to do as he pleases so he doesn’t hurt me more..

One day a nice aunty came with her daughter , she saw me and said to her daughter
"Yes, dear. I feel very sorry for it." & she took me home in the cage

My heart warmed toward the sweet young girls for their tender
sympathy. I almost wished I could be them & roam with them but they too left me alone for long time. I missed my mother , my loving mother .i missed the air , the breeze , the water & the sun .though they did not hurt me now still I was always sad
I learnt to tell their names too , Aunty Mary , Lisa & Donna I could call them they fed me alright everyday but they never understood I wanted to be set free

I dreamt last night my mother came to me & said she dipped her wings more slowly and poised her body gracefully for a moment. Then she said impressively, "Our greatest enemy is man. No,"suddenly correcting herself, "not man, but man, women and children."

"Women and dear little children our enemies?" said I, in astonishment.
"The pretty ladies who speak so sweet and kind! The pretty ladies who
gather roses in the garden! Would they deprive us of life?"

My mother nodded.

"Yes," she answered, "the pretty ladies, we are caught for them to see."
